Slingo Starburst Game Background
The background of Slingo Starburst is very similar to other Starburst slots, such as the original title and Starburst Galaxy. The background is dark, and a planet is visible in the bottom corner. This planet is also dark, with a shadow cast over it; however, along the outside is a bright orange light that illuminates the background.
The playtable of Slingo Starburst is quite simple and features a 5x5 grid with 12 paylines. This number of paylines may seem few when compared to other megaways slots; however, it does not affect gameplay in the same way, as the entire gameplay experience is very different to other traditional slots.
Slingo Starburst Gameplay
As we have mentioned, Slingo Starburst is a hybrid game that combines elements of slots and bingo, meaning the gameplay experience is quite different to that of classic online slot games. The game is played on a 5x5 grid, with numbers randomly assigned to each space. Below the grid, a single-row slot reel spins to reveal numbers or symbols that can be used to mark off spaces on the grid. The objective of Slingo Starburst is to complete lines, known as Slingos, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally to progress up the prize ladder.
Players must commit a predetermined stake to activate the rounds, and when activated, players receive 10 spins, during which players aim to match numbers on the reel with those on the grid. Non-numeric symbols, such as wilds, can also appear to form part of completed Slingos in Slingo Starburst. As players advance, completing more lines leads to a higher position on the prize ladder. The game concludes when all spins are used, determining the final prize based on completed Slingos.
Slingo Starburst Bonus Features
Interestingly, Gaming Realms has implemented a range of fun bonus features into Slingo Starburst for players to enjoy. First and foremost, there are starburst wilds. When these symbols land on the bottom reel, they allow players to mark off any number from the corresponding reel which they land underneath. Once selected, all other reels will respin while the wild is held.
Then there are joker hat wilds in Slingo Starburst, which are available in red and green variants. Red joker hats act the same as starburst wilds; however, they will not hold and allow for respins. The green hats are very similar to red hat wilds; however, they will allow players to select any number on the entire grid to cross off.
On top of this, there are additional bonus symbols in Slingo Starburst, such as free spins symbols, which award +1 additional free spin. Then there are gems which provide 0.5x, 1x, or 2.5x the player's stake when 3, 4, or 5 lands on the reel at the same time. Then, finally, there are the blocker symbols which do nothing.
Once the player's round has ended, the extra spin wheel will appear and be spun. This Slingo Starburst feature provides players with a 50% chance of gaining an extra spin. This wheel then reappears after every subsequent spin with a reduced chance of providing additional spins. A maximum of 5 additional spins can be awarded. After this, players have the option to pay for additional spins; however, they become more expensive with every purchased spin and with progression up the prize ladder.
If players land enough slingos to earn a reward from the prize ladder, they will move to the ending bonus round in Slingo Starburst. In this round, players will spin the classic Starburst slot; however, they will be guaranteed a prize formed by symbols of different values depending on their prize ladder finish. The higher up the ladder, the higher value symbols will be used for the combination. The combination players receive is guaranteed, but the payline size and value are randomised.
